We know the loss of a pregnancy can be devastating and overwhelming, but please know you are not alone. There are times when—despite the best efforts of parents, physicians and the availability of the best technology—death occurs through miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death. We understand you may be experiencing a wide range of emotions and we are here to help through this most difficult of times.
Our staff includes a certified perinatal bereavement nurse who coordinates the team of case managers and chaplains, as well as a full team of physicians and nurses who are educated and trained in comprehensive and compassionate care.
Our Perinatal Loss Program offers free support services:
The perinatal loss support group and literature and resources on pregnancy loss are available to anyone in the community regardless of the gestational stage of the loss, or if the loss occurred in another place or time, and is also available to bereaved grandparents.
For situations where a pregnant woman learns her baby has a life-limiting condition, perinatology, obstetric and neonatology staff work together with a wide interdisciplinary team to develop and offer a plan of care unique and individualized for each situation.
For information on any of these services, please email PerinatalBereavementGroup@mwhc.com or call 540.741.3268.
