Welcome to our first class of General Surgery residents!
Justin Kula, DO, is originally from Waterford, PA, and completed his undergraduate studies with a BS in microbiology with a minor in chemistry, at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Kula earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Blacksburg, VA.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and friends, doing the things he loves such as hiking, kayaking, watching sports, and anything to do with food.
Martin Tafazoli, MD, originally hailing from Northern Virginia, pursued his undergraduate education at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, where he earned a BS in biology with a minor in clinical exercise and movement sciences.
He furthered his studies with an MS in Clinical Physiology at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, before gaining valuable experience in the biotech sector in San Diego, CA. Subsequently, he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine.
In his leisure time, he enjoys hiking, frequenting the dog park with his dog Oliver, cooking elaborate meals, baking bread, and engaging in outdoor activities whenever the weather permits.
