Elvis Xhaferi, MD
Dr. Xhaferi is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in joint replacement. He went to Medical School at the University of Louisville in Kentucky and he did his Orthopedic Residency at the Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He completed his fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at Wake Forest Baptist Health. After his fellowship, he practiced at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Dr. Xhaferi offers hip replacement through a direct anterior approach. This approach has been shown to offer potentially faster recovery and improved early mobility. The anterior approach to total hip replacement is a muscle-sparing approach. The technique allows working between the muscles without disturbing them resulting in less surgical trauma and potentially less pain and earlier recovery.
Originally from New York, he and his family moved to Fredericksburg in October of 2018. When Dr. Xhaferi is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, swimming, and working out.
