Mary Washington Healthcare President and CEO Mike McDermott Honored by Becker's Hospital Review

Fredericksburg, VA – September 26, 2017 – Mike McDermott, MD, MBA, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mary Washington Healthcare, has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review in the publication’s 2017 edition of the 112 Physician Leaders of Hospitals and Health Systems.

Dr. McDermott is board-certified in diagnostic radiology and vascular and interventional radiology. Prior to being appointed as Mary Washington Healthcare’s President and CEO in 2015, he was a practicing radiologist in the Fredericksburg region with Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg from 1997 – 2014. During his time in practice, Dr. McDermott served as the Chairman of Radiology for Mary Washington Hospital and Medical Director of the Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg facilities. In addition to being recognized as a Top Doctor by Northern Virginia Magazine in 2012, 2013 and 2014, Dr. McDermott was also recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review in the 2016 edition of the 110 Physician Leaders of Hospitals and Health Systems. Under Dr. McDermott’s leadership, Mary Washington Healthcare has been named Most Wired in 2017 by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine and Mary Washington Hospital was ranked the second-best hospital in the Washington metro area according to the U.S. News & World Report 2017–18 “Best Hospitals” list.
