Mary Washington Healthcare Hospice Services awarded a $10,000 Grant from The Community Fund of the Rappahannock River Region
FREDERICKSBURG, VA, June 25, 2020 – Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) Hospice Services will be purchasing 25 iPads using the funds from a grant awarded by The Community Relief Fund of The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region.
With limited access to long-term care facilities and individual patient homes, these iPads will be used to enable virtual communication between MWHC Hospice Services clinical team members and hospice patients and their families.
“We are incredibly grateful to be awarded this grant from The Community Foundation”, said Marie Fredrick, Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Mary Washington Healthcare. “Our hospice services team would much rather be able to care for our patients and families in person, but the iPads will augment our telehealth capabilities, making it easier to connect with our patients and provide updates to family members and loved ones located anywhere in the world.”
MWHC Hospice Services wants to thank The Community Foundation and its generous donors for assisting in meeting the dynamic needs of its hospice patients and their families during this difficult time.
