Fredericksburg, VA, (February 21, 2024) – Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) is proud to announce the three-year re-accreditation of Mary Washington Hospital’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Department by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Accreditation was received in all available modules which includes body, cardiac, head, spine, musculoskeletal, and MR Angiography. There were no recommendations for improvement.
“This accreditation serves as validation to our community that the MRI team possesses the expertise needed to meet the highest quality and safety standards and that they are providing patients the best MRI services possible,” says, Donna R. Morris, CRA, BS, R.T. (R) (MR), Director, Clinical Operations, Mary Washington Healthcare. “We’re particularly grateful to Dr. James Schuster, Dr. Paul Mathew, and Ms. Scarlett Knappenberger who were most instrumental in helping the MRI department achieve this distinction.”
The ACR is the gold standard in medical imaging. Receiving accreditation validates that the equipment and clinical images meet strict quality standards, and the physicians and technologists have the appropriate education and credentials to interpret and perform MRI imaging procedures.
