What is an Institutional Review Board (IRB)?
An IRB is an independent body whose responsibility is to protect the rights, safety and welfare of human subjects involved in a research trial. The IRB is comprised of medical, scientific, and nonscientific members designated to review, approve, or disapprove research activities. They also provide continuing review of all related documents used for the trial to protect the rights, safety and welfare of human subjects participating in research.
Mary Washington Hospital Institutional Review Board (MWH IRB) is a local IRB committed to protecting community volunteers who participate in research trials.
If you are interested in finding out more information about MWH IRB or need information regarding IRB document submissions, please contact the MWH IRB.
