We’re proud to introduce our newly expanded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Mary Washington Hospital (MWH). With 20 private rooms and a 5-bed open ward and more than double the square footage, our new NICU is designed to provide families in our community with an environment that fosters healing, comfort, and connection. This expansion reflects our continued commitment to delivering exceptional care for our tiniest patients and offering families the privacy and support they need during such an important time.

Experience Matters

Staffed by board-certified neonatologists from Children’s National Hospital around-the-clock, Mary Washington Hospital’s Level III NICU is the most experienced in the region. Our partnership with Children’s National allows us to connect to pediatric subspecialties and provides collaborative research opportunities.

We provide a world-class level of care to mothers and their babies, and allow families to be close to their homes, near extended family and support systems.

We offer a highly specialized team that includes neonatal nurse practitioners, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, case managers, dietitians, and lactation consultants.
