To participate in an in-person tour of our Family Birth Place facilities,
please call Health Link at 540.741.1404 ext. 1. Please note that tour
availability is limited, and access to individual rooms may be restricted
depending on unit occupancy. Our tour spots fill up quickly, so we encourage you to call during your
second trimester to
book a tour date in your third trimester.

Birthing Suites
As part of our women’s health services, we offer state-of-the-art
birthing suites at both Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital.
These secure areas provide a special, warm environment for families to
celebrate the birth of the newest family member while surrounded by the
latest technology. Our commitment to family-centered care includes special
programs and visiting hours for siblings, grandparents and other family members.
On-Site Physician Coverage
Around the clock coverage is available to new moms and babies by our in-house
staff of physicians that include:
Obstetricians
Neonatal providers – neonatologists and nurse practitioners specializing
in the care of the newborn
Anesthesia providers – anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists for
pain management during labor and delivery

Mary Washington Hospital was recently recognized by the
National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program as a National Certified Silver Safe Sleep Leader for their commitment
to best practices and education on infant safe sleep. The National Safe
Sleep Hospital Certification Program was created by
Cribs for Kids®, a Pittsburgh-based organization dedicated to preventing infant, sleep-related
deaths due to accidental suffocation.
In addition to being Cribs for Kids® partners, MWH was recognized for
following the safe sleep guidelines recommended by the American Academy
of Pediatrics (AAP), and providing training programs for parents, staff
and the community.
